Our Technology

Our office uses state-of-the-art technology. These technologies benefit the patient by offering improved diagnosis and care.

Lasers

The use of lasers in dentistry has brought about many great advancements. They allow for procedures that are less painful, reduce the amount of tissue loss, and provide a reduction in bleeding. Lasers allow some procedures to be performed without the use of a drill or the need for a shot. Our practice uses lasers at all our locations to improve your experience allowing us to provide technologically advanced care.

Digital X-Ray

Digital x-rays reduce the amount of radiation needed as compared to film x-rays. The improved diagnostic capability of digital x-rays and the ability to view the x-rays on a computer screen allow the patient to better understand and follow treatment. Digital x-rays are instant; there is no longer a need to develop the film. Digital x-rays save time and increase patient care. It’s also a very green technology. By eliminating film, developer, and chemical waste, it is better for you and the environment!

iTero® Intraoral Scanner

Our office has been using the iTero® Element 3D Intraoral Scanner for several years. The scanner allows our orthodontic team to laser scan your mouth rather than take an impression. No more goopy impression material has to be used. The scanner uses a laser wand only slightly larger than a toothbrush to take digital “photos” of your mouth with no radiation. The thousands of data points are “stitched” together to make a digital 3D model of your mouth.

This model allows the dentist to plan your treatment and individual tooth movements. It also allows you as the patient to see exactly what position your teeth are in and where they will end up. Compared to old-fashioned stone models, the digital impression is more accurate and better suited for treatment planning.

The digital models can be used to make other custom appliances with much more accuracy than previously able. We are able to send the scan directly to the dental laboratory. When paired with Invisalign the power is truly unleashed. The digital model is sent directly to the company to plan where the orthodontic movements are and exactly what the final result will be. The aligners fit perfectly and apply pressure in the exact location and amount needed.

We are very excited to offer this technology to our adult and teen patients getting braces. We also, at times, use this scanner to create other oral appliances and plan for implants with our oral surgeon.

Electronic Medical Records (EMR)

Using Electronic Medical Records, our practice is able to quickly and accurately access patient information in order to provide the utmost in patient care. This helps to ensure patient confidentiality as well as reduce the need for paper. Using a digital format allows for quick access to your information when needed for insurance records yet provides a secure filing system.

Digital Caries Detection

With this latest technology, UV light detects cavities that are not yet visible to the naked eye. This technology enables dentists to practice minimally-invasive dentistry by providing a better possibility of diagnosing this disease at an early stage.

Soft Tissue Lasers

Soft tissue lasers are used for periodontal (gum) surgeries. These lasers are more efficient, cause less discomfort, and promote a faster healing time and decreased risk of infection, providing a better outcome.

Digital Flat Screen Monitors

These television monitors are found next to every patient chair. Patients can watch a movie or TV show, as well as view their dental x-rays when speaking to their doctor about the findings for a better understanding of their oral health.

Wi-Fi

Our office offers free Wi-Fi for our patients to use while visiting our office.

Gaming Consoles

Many gaming consoles are available for patients’ use.
